Whether walking, biking, or driving Reston’s paths and roads tell a story. Join Reston Museum for a program that explores history behind street names, Reston’s evolving transportation system, and how Reston’s community has advocated for accessibility. Presenters include Caren Anton, board member of the Reston Museum, Mike McDermott, Chair of Reston Association’s Multimodal Transportation Advisory Committee, and Colin Mills, Project Director for the Reston Accessibility Committee.

“Transportation has played a large role in Reston’s history including influencing the 1962 Reston Master Plan, creating opportunities for community volunteerism, and making Reston’s live, work, play philosophy a reality. We look forward to sharing historical photographs of this history and learning from Mr. McDermott and Mr. Mills on the Reston modes of transportation of today.” says Alexandra Campbell, Executive Director of Reston Museum.

Program will be held May 10 7 p.m. at Reston Community Center Lake Anne. Program is free but registration is required at https://www.restonmuseum.org/event-details/this-way-to-reston. Programs are supported in part by Reston Community Center.
