Spend Summer Supporting Small Business at RTC

From early June through the end of August, Reston Town Center will be spotlighting the hard work of some of the local entrepreneurs with Small Business Support Sundays (SBSS.)

Much like the annual Small Business Saturday marked across the nation each fall, Small Business Support Sundays encourages the public to get out every Sunday and give their patronage to the small businesses that make up the heart of our fine city.

The initiative began with a group of retailers at Reston Town Center who each hold great pride in their business as well as a love for the community.

“Many of us wanted to come together to create something special for those of you who support our endeavors, work with us, and focus your purchasing power on us. We don’t take it for granted,” the group said of the program.

As a result, on Sundays through August 27, those involved in the initiative will have special offers and events, and parking at Reston Town Center will be free of charge. Want to check out something special, like a concert, local art, or meet for coffee? Here is a sampling of some of the upcoming SBSS events:

Sundays in the Park with Shenandoah Conservatory

Sundays from June 18 through Sunday, August 13, 7 pm-8pm

Come and enjoy a variety of free performances of classical instrumental music in Reston Town Square Park presented by Reston Community Center and Reston Town Center Association. A schedule of music performances can be found at restoncommunitycenter.com/sundays.

Davelle Clothiers: Stylist secrets and free cappuccinos

Visit Davelle during SBSS and receive a free cappuccino along with stylist secrets including how to tie and properly fold a pocket square (among the lessons: the four-in-hand, Windsor, and Half Windsor). Clients can also learn how to pair a tie with your casual attire for a “power casual look.”

During Small Business Support Sundays, enjoy special pricing on the retail purchase of delicious Counter Culture coffee, and 15% off retail Counter Culture coffee bags. Special events, including coffee and gelato tastings, will also be held.
