Reston Community Center Presents Gifts from the HeART Exhibit & Shopping Event

Proceeds from 23rd annual event to benefit Cornerstones

Reston Community Center invites the public to the 23rd Annual Gifts from the HeART Exhibit and Holiday Gift Shopping Event.

The event will take place on Saturday, December 4, from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at RCC Lake Anne.

People can enjoy the artists’ creations on display in the Jo Ann Rose Gallery through January 6, 2022; 3D Gallery exhibit items will remain on display through February 18. Artist entry fees and 10 percent of all sales will be donated to Cornerstones.

The exhibit showcases original works of art in a variety of media – including oil, acrylic, watercolor, collage, stained glass, ceramic, sculpture and mixed media – in a wide range of sizes and prices. The December 4 reception will offer the community a chance to purchase artwork and get into the holiday spirit.

RCC will also offer a virtual artists’ directory, which will connect visitors with the dozens of artists displaying their wares at Gifts from the HeART. Interested shoppers can go through the artists to purchase items. Find the directory online at www.restoncommunitycenter.com beginning December 4. It will remain online until February 18.

Proceeds will help Cornerstones continue the important work of the Embry Rucker Community Shelter, the Laurel Learning Center and their Community Services Outreach, which includes job counseling, emergency food, and youth programs. Since the annual exhibit and sale was first held in 1999, Gifts from the HeART has raised more than $18,000 for Cornerstones.

“We are so pleased to be returning to the festive format of the Gifts from the HeART exhibit and sale, as well as offering an online experience,” said Cheri Danaher, RCC’s Arts Education Director. “Our artists and the community eagerly participate in this unique shopping event that showcases local creative talent and special gifts for holiday giving. The artists’ support of Cornerstones exemplifies the Reston spirit of providing support for those who need it.”
