RCC Adds More Options for Free Summer Concert Series in Reston

Lunchtime with the Arts at Mason, Fun Brunch at Reston Station join the lineup

Reston Community Center is pleased to announce new concert series that will bring live entertainment into the community at several outdoor venues this summer.

Summer 2019 expands on RCC’s proud tradition of free fun for the public, from lively Thursday dance nights at Lake Anne Plaza to hilarious children’s performers at Reston Town Square Park on Saturday mornings. New for 2019 are Lunchtime with the Arts at Mason and Summerbration Fun Brunch at Reston Station.

Lunchtime with the Arts at Mason brings student performers from George Mason University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts to Reston Town Square Park on select Thursdays from 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. through October 24. These performances will feature everything from Broadway show tunes to vocal jazz to tuba and euphonium ensembles. To see the full performance schedule, visit https://www.restoncommunitycenter.com/artsatmason.

RCC will continue the success of its Friday night Summerbration Concerts at Reston Station by offering free fun throughout the weekend on the plaza atop the Wiehle-Reston East Metro station. Summerbration Fun Brunch will run Saturdays and Sundays, June 1 – August 25 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on stages in front of Founding Farmers restaurant and outside of the Jahn building. There is free parking on weekends in the Metro Parking garage.

The series begins on June 1 with popular children’s group Rocknoceros. Also on the schedule at later performances are face painters, jugglers, magicians, Irish dance, live music and much more. To see the full schedule, visit www.restoncommunitycenter.com/funbrunch.

“Everyone likes to get outside in the fresh air during the summer months,” said RCC Executive Director Leila Gordon. “RCC is taking our ‘show on the road’ with these series and bringing people together right where they are. We want families and friends to enjoy the spirit of Reston all summer long.”
