It’s Party Time!

With summer right around the corner, it’s time to reconnect with friends and family, relax more, and let loose a little! What better way to do that than host the party of the summer your friends and family will still be talking about years from now? With warm weather abundant and the cold drinks plentiful, we don’t really need to give you an excuse to celebrate—but we will anyway!

Holidays:

Since Memorial Day Weekend is the unofficial kick-off for summer and opening weekend for most pools, it’s a great time to get outside and barbecue. Gather your friends and family for some poolside hot dogs and burgers, or grill up some steaks for surf and turf in the backyard. Enjoy each other’s company and toast those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for such freedoms. Similarly, 4th of July and Labor Day weekend are other great opportunities to host a get-together, because of the long weekends for travelers. You could opt for an appropriately themed All-American Barbecue, or mix things up with another fun menu of your choosing (keep reading for some exciting ideas!). Good food, good drinks, and good friends are always a winning recipe!

Graduation Parties:

Celebrate your favorite graduate and their accomplishments in style with a bash to remember! Decorating with their school colors or themed paraphernalia of their profession can add a little extra spirit and excitement for what’s to come. Keep in mind that this is a busy time of year for fellow grads and their families, so you’ll want to choose your date and time carefully. Some guests may have several parties to attend that day, so depending on when you choose, you may be able to get by with mostly heavy hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and desserts. However, if your party spans the lunch or dinner hours, you’ll want to make sure you have enough options for those who are planning to celebrate with your grad all day.

Theme Parties:

Theme parties are a great excuse to celebrate whenever you want, just because! With the warmer weather, we love the idea of a Hawaiian Luau complete with tiki lights, Hawaiian leis, piña coladas, grilled pineapple, and a pig roast. Or, how about a South of the Border Fiesta with margaritas, grilled fajitas, black bean and corn salad, chips, salsa, and fresh guacamole made in the mortar as an entertainment display? Need some other ideas? Try a Crab Feast or Low Country Boil with fresh seafood, and other favorites like hush puppies, shrimp and grits, or potato salad. Serve it up with sweet tea, fresh-squeezed lemonade, and ice-cold beer!

Company Parties and Picnics:

Summer is a great time to host a company party the whole family can enjoy! From picnics in the park, to renting out activity spaces, formal cocktail receptions, or keeping things local and hosting at work, this is a great way to boost employee morale and let everyone spend some time together outside of the 9-5. Have fun choosing a theme that best fits your company and its people. Some corporations choose to carry their theme all the way through for the annual party—from decorations, menu, drinks, location, etc.,—while others offer a little bit of everything so that there’s sure to be something for everyone! Either way, employees appreciate the effort and a chance to get to meet those significant others or little ones they hear about all the time in the break room (and show off their own, too!).

While these are just a few ideas to get you started, the possibilities for summer entertainment are endless. No matter what type of party you choose, rest assured knowing everyone always loves a chance to have a good meal with good company!
