Reston Historic Trust & Museum to Host: 3rd Annual Lake Anne Cardboard Boat Regatta

August 10, 2019
12 pm – 6 pm

Join the Reston Historic Trust & Museum (RHT) August 10th for a boat load of fun during our 3rd annual Lake Anne Cardboard Boat Regatta! It will be a fun day for spectators and participants alike. Before noon, attendees can enjoy watching over 70 cardboard boats arrive, view the creative cardboard boat designs, and attend the Farmer’s Market in the Lake Anne Plaza parking lot. Racing the cardboard boats on Lake Anne will start at 1pm. Plaza activities include a human hamster wheel that makes snow cones and misting stations. Super soakers will be available to purchase. RHT Board Member Andy Sigle will be the emcee for the event again this year. Visit the museum to see photographer Charlotte Geary’s exhibit “The Women of Lake Anne”

Cheer for all the teams racing this year including five Fairfax County Public Schools, the YMCA, local Reston businesses and non-profits, and families. Awards will be given to the fastest boats in each category as well as the “Titanic” or fastest to sink.

All team registrations and sponsorships benefit the Reston Historic Trust & Museum. This year’s presenting sponsor is Griffin Owens Insurance Group.
