Juried Exhibit Now Showing at Reston Art Gallery and Studios through May 1

A special month-long show of three-dimensional art created by nine artists renowned for their work in Reston, D.C., and beyond is now on display in “Art in 3D” through May 1 at Reston Art Gallery and Studios (RAGS). Lisa Battle, Sandra Dovberg, Doug Fuller, Deirdre McGuire, Kelly Ayotte-Phelan, Guy Rando, Wayne Schiffelbein, Ira Tattelman, and Guy Zoller are exhibiting their sculptures and assemblages of metal, wood, clay, fiber, and found objects displayed on plinths, on walls, and suspended from the ceiling.
“This is a cool show,” stated artist Pat Macintyre, the owner and director of RAGS. “We hope to inspire our gallery visitors with the creativity and discipline of artists in our region. We are delighted to present these wonderful Art in 3D exhibitors along with the works of our collective artists at RAGS.” Submissions of works selected for “Art in 3D” were juried in a process directed by Macintyre.
Everyone is invited to a reception to celebrate the show on its closing day, Sunday, May 1, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. “Art in 3D” is open for viewing every weekend – Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sundays from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. – and also by appointment on other days, through May 1. Coming up In May
New works by artist Sandra Dovberg will be presented in her “Natural Habitats” show at RAGS. Also in May, a collaborative art exhibit at Reston Community Center–Hunters Woods will feature works from Reston Art Gallery and Studios, highlighted with the “Appalachian Spring” concert presented by the Reston Chorale on Saturday, May 7.
The gallery furthers its nurture of art with free, themed Crafts for Kids every Saturday morning, April through December, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
